Posted 07/22/2019

The kids are out of school, the days are warm and long, and the activities on Seabrook Island are in full swing! If you’ve been searching for some ways to get the whole family out of the house, look no further. There are plenty of family-friendly summer activities happening on Seabrook Island every day.

Dine in the Pelican’s Nest

Seabrook Island Pelican's Nest Dining

Pelican’s Nest is a seasonal restaurant across from our Island House. This open air dining area boasts a fantastic view of the water, tasty eats to please the whole family, and live music on Sunday and Tuesday nights until Labor Day. It also has a full service bar, complete with a large TV. Shake up your weekend plans or join us on a Tuesday evening to catch the rotating live entertainment and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean. No reservations are required and the dress code is casual beachwear.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Bohicket Creek

You and your family may have driven by Bohicket Creek, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to take some paddle boards out and really explore the salt marsh? The nearby stand up paddle (SUP) boarding company, Water Dog Paddle Co., provides SUP tours and rentals every day from the Bohicket Marina.

If you choose to do one of the tours, they run in the day and evening for 2 hours. Your tour includes a lifeguard-certified guide, the SUP equipment, water, and a photo album to remember your trip. If you’re already confident in your family’s paddle boarding abilities, you can choose to rent the equipment, without the guide.

Summer Farmer’s Market at Freshfields Village

Seabrook Island residents enjoying Freshfields Village; a place with restaurants and plenty of other things to do

Every Monday evening from now until August, you and your family can visit the Freshfields Village farmer’s market to get the ripest local produce available. From 4 pm to 8 pm, shop for organic fruits and veggies, local seafood, and handmade craft goods from Lowcountry artisans.

These are just a few of the options for summer activities on Seabrook. As always, we have weekly golf clinics, daily fitness activities at the Seabrook Island Lake House, and weekend mixed doubles at the Racquet Club. Keep checking the Seabrook Calendar for more events, and contact the Amenity Office for more information!
